Conquering Foel Goch from Llangwm – A Welsh Nuttalls Adventure

Conquering Foel Goch from Llangwm – A Welsh Nuttalls Adventure

With 188 peaks to climb, the Welsh Nuttalls challenge is no small feat, but each summit brings its own reward. This time, we set our sights on Foel Goch, a quiet yet stunning peak nestled in the heart of Snowdonia’s lesser-travelled hills. Starting from Llangwm, this walk is a fantastic choice for those who enjoy solitude and sweeping views.

The Route from Llangwm

Llangwm, a charming village in the Conwy Valley, serves as an excellent starting point for the ascent. The route follows a mixture of faint tracks, open moorland, and grassy slopes, offering a varied but enjoyable challenge.

Reaching the Summit

At 611 metres, Foel Goch might not be the highest peak on the Welsh Nuttalls list, but it certainly delivers in terms of scenery. The summit is marked by a trig point and offers stunning panoramic views of the Snowdonia range, including the distant Carneddau peaks, Arenigs, and even glimpses of the Clwydian hills on a clear day.
